A little bit of history

Singapore was founded, or so history claims, by this Englishman named Stamford Raffles. His name is plastered everywhere in Singapore. From schools, to shopping complexes and hotels, to roads, and even commercial companies and hospitals.
Not bad for someone who lived nearly 200 years ago.
Lets turn our heads to Malaysia now.
Its got a nice capital called Kuala Lumpur, founded some years after Singapore.
Its founder was this obscure Chinese chappy by the name of Yap Ah Loy. Quite a big difference. Can't find this guy's name anywhere, except that he has a small road named after him, Jalan Yap Ah Loy. What happened!?!
